Your Generosity
We asked you to tell us why you give to Seton Cares. Your answers are below. Thank you for all you do, through Seton, for our patients and for the community.
Our family isn’t rich. Sometimes we struggle month-to-month. But we are blessed with life and health.
I long ago realized and believe that my nursing profession is a gift to me. Seton hired me and I have remained employed through many economical crises. How can I not give, seeing that I have received so much more! Giving to the Seton Nurse Scholarship Endowment give me hope that great nurses will take care of me when I need it!
As a single mother struggling with job and family, and as a future nursing student, I know how hard it is to continue education. My respect goes out to all of those who are going back to school in these difficult times.
Things are tight right now. Wasn’t sure if I would be able to continue going to school, when I received the nurse scholarship. It was a big help to me. I want to give the same chance to someone else.
Seton’s mission and vision inspire me to give. I love the Seton Family of Hospitals.
I have a son born with a disease. When I didn’t have money for my son’s medication, I received help from local organizations. If it weren’t for these resources, my son would not have gotten his proper medications. I was young and scared and so worried about my son. These resources were there for my family and eased my worries. So if I can help it makes me feel great to help others.
It makes me feel good to know my work provides for something more than just my own needs.
I love working here and want to help and take care of my friends here.
Seton has been very good to me. I believe in our mission. I love working for an organization that invests their profits in charity. Thanks for being such a great place to work.
I am unable to give due to my own family situation—caring for multiple members with chronic illnesses. However, I want to help in even a small way to further nurse education. One day, I hope to pursue a BSN myself.
The patients inspire me. People struggle all day just to get through. But when you talk to them, you smile. They laugh and joke sometimes. Seton Hays covers such a significant portion of the population who require assistance. I feel compelled to support Seton Hays.
Because of the care my grandson received at Brack and Dell. Thank you for the loving care.
Seton helped my dad when he needed help.
God has blessed me with the job I have at Seton. I see the mission, vision and values played out every day. My co-workers inspire me to do my very best every day. I look for Christ in them.
Because being a nurse is so rewarding. I want to help others with advancement of this dream.
I was given a scholarship. I could not have earned my RN without it!
My love for Seton Family of Hospitals and their mission to serve everyone with dignity and respect!
I have been a benefactor of God’s unselfish love and his love has inspired me to share my blessing with someone else. Because he loved me first, I am compelled to love others more than myself. Therefore, I give because of love.
My mother loved everyone and never treated anyone differently. She was a caring and giving person.
Seton is a Christian organization, and as such tries very hard to honor the mission. So do I. I appreciate this more and more as I get older.
We are commanded by God to “Love they neighbor.” Not to mention that someone once told me we do not “own” anything materials while we are on this earth. The things we seem to possess are more on loan to us from God, and to be good stewards, we need to share with others.
My faith and ability to help others during their time of need.
I give because of all of the people around me who give of themselves every day to serve these children.
I have many blessings in my life and I want to give back in gratitude.
The League House staff creates an atmosphere of safety and security for families at a time when they are most vulnerable. Thank you, all!
The need for care is so great that the only way to make a difference is for us all to do it together. We are changing our community one step at a time, every day.
My mother was always a person who wanted to make a difference. Every day I remember she would say, “Baby girl, whether you do or don’t, always keep your head up and keep smiling. When we feel like we have it bad, someone else has it worse. That smile makes a difference, so try to give as much happiness as you can. God is always with you.” Her memories and words are always with me in spirit. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share her words.
Just to help others in need. God has blessed me in many ways.
The love and care provided by the heart transplant and specialty care center at Seton. “Love transforms hearts.”
I simply love people. My heart goes out to those who are lonely or hurting.
As a child, I lived below the poverty line, as an adult I have lived above and below the poverty line. I know what it is like to need help. I want others to have the same resources as I have had. Seton Cares gives me the option to give what I can without feeling like I should give more, or that a small amount is worthless. Thank you, Seton!
